Welcome to the Town of Porter, NY

The Town of Porter, NY is a waterfront community rich in history, agricultural tradition, and natural beauty.

Located in the upper northwest section of Niagara County in Western New York, Porter is bordered on the west by the Lower Niagara River and the north by Lake Ontario. The town encompasses the Village of Youngstown, NY and the Hamlet of Ransomville, NY. Attractions including Old Fort Niagara and the Ransomville Speedway are also located in the Town of Porter.

The 2000 population of the Town of Porter stood at 6,920. Still largely a rural community, the Town of Porter has also grown into a residential center for those working nearby in Niagara Falls, NY, Buffalo, NY, and other local business hubs. The Village of Youngstown within Porter also holds the distinction of being named the 2006 Best Small Village in Western New York by Business First of Buffalo.
